How to Make Someone Smile

make someone smileMake Someone Smile® Week began almost sixteen years ago as a charity event that Teleflora thought of and sponsored. Over the course of the years, interest spread throughout the industry, and florists across the country have eagerly joined in this campaign.Gordon Boswell is excited to be a part of this crusade, because we truly believe in the power that flowers have to make people happy, to make them smile, or to cheer people up.

Make Someone Smile® encourages people to think about their elderly relatives, neighbors, extended family members, or anyone they may know who is confined to a hospital, nursing home, or assisted living facility. Think of children in hospitals, or foster homes. They long to be able to do everything that all kids love to do. Southern hospitality is all about being warm and friendly, and that’s a big part of what this campaign seeks to do.

We thought about the arrangements we have and came up with some suggestions that we hope will inspire you to reach out to a loved one or stranger, simply to do a good deed, and to make them smile – for a moment, for a day, or for any length of time.

Fun in the Sun

Our Fun in the Sun arrangement is the epitome of summer and sunshine, and we’re sure it will make someone smile. We arrange a combination of sunflowers, orange roses and blue and white hydrangeas in a clear glass vase. Accents of greenery and berries add color and texture to this delightful nod to summer.

It’s a Perfect Day

It’s a Perfect Day Bouquet is packed with color and delightful blooms that are sure to lift someone’s spirits, even on the gloomiest day. We arrange stargazer lilies with orange spray roses, sunflowers, yellow Alstromeria, pink Gerbera daisies, and deep blue hydrangeas. We add lush greens for a dramatic effect.

The Be Happy® arrangement is Teleflora’s signature for this event. What could be more cheerful than a bright yellow mug with a smile emblazoned on it? We really dress this keepsake mug up by filling it with yellow roses and white and yellow daisies. When you want to make someone smile, this is guaranteed to accomplish the job.

We encourage you to join us as we spread some happiness around our community. Transform that southern hospitality for which Texas is so well known, into an act of kindness that brightens the day of someone who needs some warmth and cheerfulness.
