Floral Design Day was originally imagined as a unique way to celebrate the birthday of Carl Rittner, the founder of the Rittners School of Floral Design in Boston. Recognized as both a visionary and pioneer in floral art education, Rittner helped to elevate floral design to an art form. In 1995, Governor William F. Weld of Massachusetts, proclaimed this day as Floral Design Day, and this month we celebrate the artistic professionals who make gorgeous flowers a part of our everyday life.
Say Hello To Lori: Gordon Boswell Flowers would like to use this occasion to introduce you to a very important member of our team. Lori began with the shop over three years ago as a temporary salesperson, and today is one of our most valued designers. When asked why she loves her job, Lori replied ” My coworkers. I enjoy working with other very talented and creative people. They inspire me to be more creative and to not limit myself. They make me want to do better.”
Lori shares that she loves working with tropical and exotic flowers that the shop doesn’t get as often, and that her flair for creativity leads her to a love of designing modern styles. As a matter of fact, if you have ordered or received a chic, trendy or contemporary floral arrangement, chances are excellent that Lori may have had something to do with it. ” I love designing with flowers. It gives me a chance to use my art. Knowing that someone is smiling because they received one of my unique creative designs, that is a feeling that you can only get from being at a flower shop.”
Lori is married, with two children and three grandchildren – but she also values the relationships she has made at Gordon Boswell Flowers, citing the “great friendships” with the rest of the staff. We couldn’t be more proud of Lori or thrilled to have her as a part of our family. On National Floral Design Day, and every day – the entire team at Gordon Boswell Flowers is dedicated to providing you with stunning floral designs unrivaled in Fort Worth.
