For many married couples, the relationship that each person has with their mother-in-law is stressful. We hear stories about the stereotypical relationship a son or daughter has with their mother-in-law, including all of the trivial details that contribute to the contentious nature of this important family dynamic.
There isn’t any concrete information that explains the reasoning behind the existence of an unofficial national observance dedicated to mothers-in-law. We know that the first celebration, which occurred on March 5, 1934, was initiated by the editor of the Amarillo newspaper. Now that this observance is considered an unofficial official one, it’s celebrated every year on the fourth Sunday in October. This year, it falls on Sunday, October 25.
We know that sometimes our customers are intimidated at the prospect of choosing floral arrangements for important people in their lives. With that in mind, we decided to highlight some our favorite floral designs to give you an idea about possible bouquets from which to choose for your mother-in-law.
Fashionista
We call this arrangement Fashionista, but you don’t have to be a fashionista to appreciate the beauty of this bouquet. Your mother-in-law will be speechless at the sight of this fun floral design. Who wouldn’t be captivated by a combination of pink, white and yellow roses, hydrangeas, Gerbera daisies, and carnations? For an elegant touch, we wrap a ribbon around the vase and add a pink raffia bow.
Hydrangea & Calla Lilies
If you want something simple but elegant, you can’t go wrong with the arrangement we call Hydrangea and Calla Lilies. Your mother-in-law will be swept away by the calming zen qualities of this floral design. We chose dark pink miniature calla lilies and mixed them with luxurious lime green hydrangeas. We add some accents of purple status to this super modern square vase. We line the vase with curly willow and tie a dark purple ribbon around it.
Scentsational Pinks
We’re positive that the fragrant combination of pink Stargazer lilies, roses, and Gerbera daisies in our Sensational Pinks arrangement will make any mother-in-law smile from ear to ear. This delightful arrangement comes in a modern cube-shaped vase. We top it off with decorative grass.
You can never go wrong when you give someone a gift of roses. Your mother in law will be as surprised as she is delighted with your gift of a Dozen, Dozen-and-a-Half or Two Dozen Pink Roses.
Celebrate your Mother-in-Law on Sunday, October 25. Let our Gordon Boswell team of floral designers help you come up with a spectacular flower arrangement that will touch your mother-in-law’s heart in a memorable way.
