Trick or Treat Smell My Flowers – Not Feet!

October has arrived, and Halloween will be upon us soon! Many people are excitedly making preparations for the big haunt by stocking up on candy, decorating their front yards, and picking out costumes. Others have already begun celebrating with scary movie marathons, haunted houses, pumpkin carving, and a whole month of sweet treats. At Gordon Boswell Flowers, our florists are ready to spread the spirit of the season to everyone in Fort Worth with spooky flowers and ghoulish gifts designed specially for Halloween.

Our Favorite Flowers and Colors for Halloween Floral Designs

During the Halloween season, many designers turn to just orange and black for their seasonal floral creations. While we love a good classic, when it’s executed well (as exemplified by this glam arrangement, Jack-O-Lantern Blooms), we also like to play around with color — especially at Halloween when quirky combinations hit the right ghoulish note. Our florists recommend combinations of bright colors like lime green, a variety of oranges, yellows, purples, and even reds. With these different combinations, you can capture the spirit of a jack-o-lantern, witch’s brew, mummy, ghost, vampire, or a cave full of bats!

Bewitched

Roses

Available in many shapes, sizes, and an infinite rainbow of colors and variegations, roses offer nearly limitless possibilities in Halloween and harvest bouquets. They can be both elegant and spooky when incorporated with the right combination of complementary blooms and design elements. For Halloween, we particularly recommend roses in blood-red, midnight black, and all the shades of orange.

The bi-color roses used in our Technicolor take on an all-orange arrangement truly stun. In Bewitched Fall Flowers, we push pumpkin-color to the next level, featuring orange in a variety of shades, tones, and textures.

Hydrangea

In greenish-white or purplish-blue, hydrangea adds an interesting texture to a spooky bouquet and can provide a beautifully soft accent against an arrangement featuring warmly burnt autumn colors.

Dianthus (Green Trick)

For fun, festive Halloween bouquets, we absolutely love a lime green flower! No bloom fits the bill quite like green trick. These unusual flowers have silky, soft globe-shaped blooms that add a variety of texture to an arrangement full of average petals. They’re downy to the touch and look beautiful against bright purples, oranges, and black flowers in a spirited Halloween arrangement.

Calla Lilies

Calla lilies in dark purple provide a perfectly elegant, yet macabre, feel to a ghostly floral arrangement. These flowers’ deep aubergine hue is beautiful against black flowers, purple, or contrasting bright colors, like green and orange. These spectral blooms add a dark touch to a nighttime Halloween celebration.

Send a candy-filled gift basket to your favorite trick-or-treater or honor a special October occasion with a Halloween bouquet artfully arranged in a ceramic keepsake container. Our Haunted House design, featuring a ceramic keepsake pumpkin jar and a mix of autumn flowers topped with a ghoulishly bewitched haunted cottage, is the perfect spooky gift for anyone who loves the spirit of Halloween.
