The month of February is packed with romance. We celebrate Valentine’s Day and Creative Romance in the same month. As usual, we count on the creativity of the Gordon Boswell floral design experts to come up with a massive selection of creative and romantic flower arrangements that combine the best seasonal flowers that are available to us.
How much do you love your girlfriends? Well enough to have an entire day devoted to celebrating them? We at Gordon Boswell agree, and guess what? There’s a day for that.
The idea for Galentine’s Day was first proposed in a 2010 episode of NBC’s Parks and Recreation, when main character Leslie Knope took all of her ladies out to a long lunch and gave them gifts the day before Valentine’s Day. She called it “Galentine’s,” and the rest is history. Each year, more and more women are taking the chance to celebrate their friendships on February 13th.
We here at Gordon Boswell welcome 2018, which will be filled with flowers for us, and we’re hoping for you, too. In fact, we have two programs that will help you make sure that your year is abundant with beautiful blooms, and January is the perfect time to get on board with one of them.
If you have something special in mind for your ailing friend or loved one, look no further than flowers. A bright, bountiful bouquet is just the thing when someone is feeling more than the winter blues and needs a good dose of sunshine and cheer. Flowers, studies show, are major mood enhancers, and they also promote a positive outlook. Patients who have flowers or potted plants in their hospital rooms use less pain medication and have lower blood pressure than their flower-less counterparts.
We here at Gordon Boswell have a rich collection of get well flowers designed to perk up anyone suffering during cold and flu season.
While it’s very hard to narrow it down to some of Gordon Boswell’s favorite things during this time of year, we’ve done it. See our very best seasonal blooms, arrangements and more in our Holiday Gift Guide, a real one-stop shop in that you can find something for anyone in its pages – we promise.
One of our most beloved lines, Coton Colors, makes a spectacular gift for the holidays. Once filled to the brim with bright winter blooms and arranged with a touch of whimsy, these distinctive floral containers become the gift that keeps on giving.
At Gordon Boswell, we believe in being charitable all year long, and in helping you do the same. We donate to Junior Achievement Of The Chisholm Trail, headquartered here in lovely Fort Worth and an incredible program that connects 35,000 students from kindergarten to 12th grade with businesses, entrepreneurs, educators and volunteers. JA’s objective? To both reinforce how important school is to future careers and to teach students what those careers may entail. It’s an effort we’re proud to support, but we also make it easy for you to join in the charitable fun through our Helping Hands program.

There are many people in our lives that we tend to take for granted – and at work, the dedicated work of administrative professionals is often overlooked. That is, of course, until they take a day off! Truth be told, our support personnel, whether answering phones or managing databases, are the ones that keep the business running smoothly day to day, which is why having an opportunity to thank them is so important! Administrative Professionals Week has evolved over the years – and grown to encompass not only secretaries but all of the people on our team, the unsung heroes that we could not do without.
When someone we love is under the weather, we definitely want to cheer them up. Studies have shown that receiving flowers has an instant effect on our well-being and happiness, making floral bouquets a perfect choice to send to someone who is ill. Whether your friend or family member is in the hospital or sick at home, choosing beautiful plants and flowers from Gordon Boswell Flowers is a guaranteed way to make them smile.
Which flowers are right to send? If your loved one is at home, virtually any florals are appropriate, but you may wish to ask the experts as to which blooms have the least scent. If someone is not feeling well, an overwhelming fragrance may be offensive, so stay away from highly aromatic flowers – instead, choose gerbera daisies, tulips or sunflowers. They are not only low fragrance but are cheerful and easy to care for. Continue reading
