Make Your Secret Santa Gift The Happiest

Secret Santa is a popular gift swap in a work setting or amongst a group of friends, and for good reason. The cloak of anonymity on the part of the giver lends a lot of anticipation and just plain fun to the exchange. When everyone finally gets their gifts, it’s a riot to try to figure out who gave what to whom. On the other hand, Secret Santa can lead to a lot of gimmicky gift choices, a fate we here at Gordon Boswell would love to help you avoid this year.

Deck the Office Halls with Poinsettias

It’s the most wonderful time of the year . . . for poinsettias!

This winter-blooming plant is all the rage when holiday time hits because of its classic Christmas color palette, true red against perfect green leaves. But this beauty is available in lots of colors, including white, pink and even orange. What makes the red version so coveted when it comes to workplace decor is that most businesses and offices desperately need holiday color but have a lot of open space, too. Clusters of poinsettias cover some of that ground and make a huge impact, all with little effort on the part of you and your colleagues.

Grace Your Tables With Thanksgiving Centerpieces

If you’re hosting Thanksgiving this year, it’s time to start dressing that table – and we don’t mean with food. Among the heritage linens and heirloom china, another classic bit of decor awaits its moment in the spotlight: a floral centerpiece.

Whether you go grand and lavish or sweet and simple, your Thanksgiving table’s centerpiece reflects the mood you want to set. Flowers put at the heart of a table are meant to be looked at, remarked over and enjoyed for the rest of the meal. They have to be of a scale that conversation can easily happen over them; visually arresting but not too distracting. In short, centerpieces are major players in our experience of Thanksgiving.

Graceful Gifts for the Host

Are you ready for Thanksgiving?

Your answer may fall somewhere between “not remotely” and “absolutely,” and if so, you wouldn’t be alone. There is so much planning, preparing and execution to be done if you’re hosting Turkey Day in your home that it’s tough to feel completely prepared. But what if you’ve been graciously invited into someone else’s home for the big day? If that’s the case, we here at Gordon Boswell Flowers encourage you to remember one of your most important duties as a Thanksgiving guest: the host gift.

Sweetest Day

Do you celebrate Sweetest Day? The holiday, which began 100 years ago in Cleveland, has primarily been observed in the Midwest over the years, although recently it is gaining traction across the United States. Grandparents Day Flowers & Plants

grandparents day flowers

Grandparents Day is an annual opportunity for families to celebrate the very special relationships involved between grandparents and their grandkids. Established by Congress in 1978, the day was set aside in the hopes that extended families would gather together, share stories and history, and learn about each other. Only a few decades prior, multi-generational families lived together, but the arrangement had become far less common. Grandparents Day sought to reconnect relatives of all ages to share their common legacy.

This day also gives us a wonderful opportunity to tell these very special people how much we love them. Gordon Boswell Flowers has the Grandparents Day flowers you’ll need to convey your love and gratitude.

There is simply no love like a grandparents love. Return the love on September 10, with floral designs which are certain to touch their hearts.  Whether your grandmother would prefer an elegant bouquet of snapdragons and roses (above) or a more casual wildflower bouquet featuring sunflowers, lilies and daisies (below) we have a bouquet for every personality and style.

We haven’t forgotten about Grandpa – check out our green plants for his den, or maybe a box of delicious fruit and nuts  is more his style!

Did You Know? Although we often think of a little grey haired couple when we hear grandparent, the average age of the first-time grandparent is 48 – making most of them more than capable of chasing around the grandkids! And they love doing so, as over 75% of grandparents report that being with their grandchildren is the most fulfilling thing in their life.

Whether you call them Nana and Pop-Pop,  Mimi and Papa, or good old Grandma and Grandpa – if they live in the Fort Worth area, give them a call and plan a special outing for September 10. They will absolutely love spending time with you.

And don’t forget the Grandparents Day flowers – because a bouquet from Gordon Boswell Flowers makes every occasion more beautiful.
